Welcome to immortality.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2019, including some players who have been selected in their first year of eligibility!
Fifteen of football's biggest names are now one step away from immortality.
And then there were 25.
The list of 102 modern-era nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2019 has been cut down to 25 semi-finalists. This list consists of players and coaches who are all eligible for enshrinement next August in Canton.
A player or coach must be five years removed from the game to be eligible for nomination, meaning that any player or coach who last played in 2013 is eligible to be on the ballot for the first time this year.
Here is the official list of modern-era semi-finalists:
Most players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame are remembered for the colors that they repped on the field. The teams that they represented are sometimes as important as their performance on the field. When players get enshrined into the Hall of Fame, the link between a player and the teams that they played for become cemented into eternity.
With Gold Jackets handed out and busts perfectly sculpted, the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class is now in the books. With that said, it's time to look forward to the names that could be up next in 2019. With the first batch of nominations to be announced in mid-September, there are some names that are shoe-ins and some that are long-shots when it comes to players that are entering their first year of eligibility.
